1 Corinthians 1:17 says this, “For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.” David asks us to prayerfully consider where we are not allowing the fullness of the cross to create faith in Christ more than faith in the wisdom of men. Man’s wisdom and external insights are powerful gifts that can reinforce what Christ has already spoken through His Word and confirmed in the cross. However, it must affirm and validate what Christ has already revealed through the message of the cross. Through prayer, the cross can be realigned in its proper place in your heart and mind.
