As we look at Psalm 32:9, we begin to see a parallel with James 3:2-5. We do not want to be led by external circumstances but by the Spirit of the Lord. Being led by “bit and bridle” is to be led by external circumstances and happenings. We do not want to allow our life to be guided by the control of the law but the liberty we have by the Spirit. As we avail ourselves to the Spirit of God, our heart and mind is being renewed. Your mouth then begins to align with the Spirit. We can be counseled and instructed by the Spirit as our guide by declaring this promise.
